Volunteer Fairfax hosts Family Volunteer Day - Jan. 21, 2013
Posted on Jan 7th, 2013
Volunteer Fairfax invites you to its fourth annual Give Together: A Family Volunteer Day on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2013. Once again this year we will be hosting three different locations: Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton and the Herndon Senior Center.
Families enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community by working on service projects provided by various nonprofits from the region. Projects range from writing cards to deployed military personnel, to making beaded bracelets for hospital patients.
The event will be divided into two shifts: Shift 1 (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and Shift 2 (1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Families with elementary-aged children are encouraged to attend this event. Registration is available on the Volunteer Fairfax website at www.volunteerfairfax.org. Questions and requests for additional information should be directed to Meg Emery at email@example.com or (703) 246-3533.
